Three Bond 1797 - Primer für Cyanacrylat
Overview of Primer Three Bond 1797
The Three Bond 1797 primer is an alcohol-based solution for adhesion promotion prior to cyanoacrylate adhesives. It is particularly suitable for difficult-to-bond plastics such as PE, PP and POM and replaces hazardous etching baths. By rapid evaporation, the primer leaves a clean, adhesion-ready surface with no residues.
With a viscosity of 0.85 mPa·s and a density of 0.80 g/cm³, it provides reliable wetting of the plastic surface. The shelf life of 6 months enables practical storage in manufacturing. The adhesion strength is up to 20 MPa, and curing occurs rapidly, typically 10 s (NBR).
Suitable for difficult-to-bond plastics
PE, PP and POM place high demands on the adhesive system. The primer forms a uniform, pore-free intermediate surface and improves adhesion between the plastic substrate and the subsequent cyanoacrylate adhesive. Pre-treatment with the primer enables more robust joints, reduces edge failure and increases the surface wetting of the CA adhesive.
