Anaerobic gasket sealant Three Bond 1342C A20060 at a glance

The Three Bond 1342C is an anaerobic gasket sealant with low strength, specially suitable for gasket connections with moderate loading. The variant C of the 1342 series offers a fast curing and comes in a 250 g bottle to the portfolio. The blue color facilitates visual assignment in assembly.

Technically the adhesive is based on Methacrylate and has a viscosity of ca. 150 mPa·s at 25 °C as well as a density of 1.10 g/cm³. The temperature range extends from -60 °C to +150 °C. The shelf life amounts to 12 months.

After application, the sealant reaches the functional strength in 2 h and the final strength after 24 h. The optimum gap tolerance lies at 0.005–0.01 mm, maximum tolerable 0.15 mm. For assembly processes, a tightening range up to approx. 7 N·m is recommended, while the breakaway torque value is 9 N·m.

Processing & Practice

• Clean surfaces and keep thoroughly dry to ensure an even seal.
• Apply the anaerobic adhesive into the gap or sealing surface of the screw connection up to about M12.
• Assemble and tighten according to the tightening torque; after assembly, observe the indicated curing time.
