Adhesive Three Bond 1747 – Cyanacrylate Gel A20122 Overview

The Three Bond 1747 is a Cyanacrylate Gel with thixotropic properties, which prevents dripping and is particularly suitable for bonding on vertical surfaces. In the 50 g bottle, it is ideal for small to medium components in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and automotive.

As the main component, Ethyl cyanacrylate is used. The color of the gel is colorless, which is important for visible bonds. The viscosity (25 °C) is approx 2,000 mPa·s and the density (25 °C) approx 1.05 g/cm³. Bond strength develops after approx 10 s curing, depending on substrate, coating thickness and exposure.

The application range of the gel extends from -40 °C to 85 °C, making it suitable for ambient-temperature applications as well as in mechanical and electrical environments. An important performance metric is the shear strength of 16 MPa as well as the impact resistance of 14 kJ/m², enabling lasting loads. The shelf life is 9 months.

Suitable for metal and elastomer bonding

Metal

On metals, the gel forms a solid, durable bond with high resistance to debonding. The thixotropic formulation reduces dripping, even on vertical component surfaces.

Elastomers

Also on elastomers, the adhesive provides good adhesion; the gel consistency compensates for irregularities and ensures uniform force transfer.
