The Three Bond 1230 is a 2K silicone potting compound in a 2 kg can set, suitable for electronics potting and housing protection. As a two-component adhesive (A/B), it combines robust sealing with good thermal insulation and chemical resistance. The mixture is at a 1:1 mixing ratio, enabling easy processing, especially in tight enclosures and with complex layouts.

It cures at room temperature (RT) without shrinkage and offers high resistance to chemicals, vibrations and temperature changes. With a temperature range of -60 °C to 200 °C, it reliably protects sensitive electronic components over their life cycle. The material achieves a Shore D hardness of 70 and a tensile strength of 3.5 MPa, combined with an elongation of 70%, enabling mechanically robust potting. The density is approx. 1.54–1.55 g/cm³ and the viscosity about 3–5 Pa·s, ensuring controlled flow characteristics.

In practical terms, mixing can typically be processed within 6 h at 25 °C with a 100 g test sample. Curing typically occurs after 24 h at room temperature. The product is ideal for applications in electronic enclosures, sensors and protective housings, where a dense, temperature-stable potting compound is required. The set is shelf-stable for 4 months and suitable for temperature operation in the range of -60 to 200 °C.
