Sealant Three Bond 1215 – A20028 Overview

The Three Bond 1215 is an RTV silicone sealant based on an oxime system and offers high chemical resistance as well as immediate sealing.

As a gray-colored sealant, it provides robust resistance to motor oil, gear oil and coolant. It is particularly suitable when permanently sealed connections on oil pans, gear housings and water pumps are required.

Key data include a Shore D hardness of 45, an elongation of 320% and a tensile strength of 1.5 MPa. The viscosity is 20 Pa·s (BH 70 Pa·s) and the density 1.55 g/cm³. The temperature range extends from -60 °C to 200 °C (briefly up to 250 °C). Surface drying occurs in about 60 minutes, and the shelf life is 12 months.

Suitable for Oil and Coolant Circuits

Oil pans and gear housings

The seal provides excellent resistance to motor oil, gear oil and coolant. The immediate sealing minimizes leaks directly after installation and reduces rework.

Coolant and water systems

Also in cooling systems, the sealant performs its function through chemical resistance to coolant and high temperature capability, increasing the durability and reliability of the seal joint.
