Three Bond 1215 – CheM-resistant RTV silicone seal overview

The Three Bond 1215 is a CheM-resistant RTV silicone seal in a 25 kg pail, color gray. As a sealant of the RTV silicone class it is based on an oxime-based system and is characterized by high chemical resistance. The seal forms quickly and achieves a reliable seal under harsh operating conditions. Its sealing performance remains stable even at temperatures of -60 °C to 200 °C, or temporarily up to 250 °C.

With a Shore hardness of 45 Shore A and a elongation of 320% it offers sufficient flexibility to absorb vibrations and compensate temperature fluctuations without cracking. The density is about 1.55 g/cm³, which enables a robust layer that repels oil and coolant components.

Product features & applications

The seal impresses with high chemical resistance and already after application immediate sealing – ideal for oil reservoirs, transmission housings and water pumps, where leaks must be avoided. The gray coloration facilitates optical integration into engine and transmission components.

Suitable for oil and coolant environments

Thanks to its formulation, the seal remains resistant to engine oil, gear oil and coolant. This reduces maintenance intervals and increases the reliability of component environments where seals are continuously exposed to chemical stresses.
