Sealant Three Bond 1215 at a glance

The Three Bond 1215 is a gray-colored RTV silicone sealant based on an Oxime system. It combines high chemical resistance with instant sealing and is especially suited for applications where oil, gear oil, or coolant may come into contact. With a viscosity of 20 Pa·s (BH70 Pa·s) and a density of 1.55 g/cm³, it provides a reliable barrier against media exposure and temperature fluctuations. The temperature range remains continuously at -60 to 200 °C (short-term up to 250 °C). The surface dry time is approx. 60 minutes and the shelf life 12 months. The Shore hardness is D 45 and elongation 320 %, enabling flexible sealing even with component movement.

As part of an Oxime system, this sealant shows good adhesion to metal surfaces and robust chemical resistance. The product is ideal for demanding sealing tasks in vehicles and machinery where operating stability and reliability are required.

Suitable for oil and coolant domains

Oil pans, transmission housings and sealing surfaces

The sealant reliably resists motor oil, gear oil and coolant when surfaces are clean and grease-free. The combination of chemical resistance and good adhesion ensures a durable seal over varying temperatures.

Coolant circuits and water pumps

In the coolant circuit, the seal prevents leaks at connections and pump housings. The robust resistance to coolant components contributes to extending the system's life.

Processing & Practice
